Rob - Keyboards
Rob joined the band in 2003 and completes The Ripchords in its final set up as a 5 pce band. Rob learned the ropes on piano and has been playing since the age of 10 years . Back in the early 70's Rob played at the local RSL in a 3 pce band comprising Saxaphone, Piano and Drums; occasionally a banjo would be produced! In those days the routines were honky tonk and ragtime but he also complemented this with his involvement of typical 'Pop' garage bands of the time.
Much water has passed under the bridge since then and with 40 years of musical experience behind him his addition has seen The Ripchords reach a new level in musical excellence. Robs plays the Roland X7 which has an amazing true to life timbre. Not satsified, he recently added a second keyboard to the mix with the Hammond XK-1. Songs which require that 60's/70's iconic organ sound like Small Faces Itchy Coo Park or Steppenwolf's, Born to Be Wild, makes the Hammond the keyboard of choice.
